Most perms last roughly 2–6 months depending on hair texture, growth rate and care. Fine or chemically treated hair may relax sooner, while coarse hair holds shape longer. Use recommended products and avoid excessive heat to prolong curls.
Most hair types can be permed, but condition matters. Damaged, porous or recently bleached hair requires assessment and sometimes strengthening treatments first. Our stylists evaluate elasticity and porosity to recommend the safest perm option or pre-treatment if needed.
A perm chemically alters hair structure to create curls; when performed correctly it doesn't have to cause permanent damage. We use gentle formulas and protective treatments, but repeated chemical services without care can weaken hair. Follow aftercare and repair treatments to maintain health.
Avoid coloring or heavy chemical services for at least two weeks before your perm. Come with clean, dry hair and avoid heavy styling products. If hair is fragile, book a consultation so we can plan pre-treatment or suggest a bond-strengthening service.
Use sulfate-free, curl-friendly shampoos and conditioners, and limit washing to preserve shape. Sleep on a silk pillowcase or use a loose pineapple method. Use leave-in treatments and avoid high heat styling; refresh with light styling products and diffuse when needed.
Appointment length varies by service and length — short perms often take 60–90 minutes; medium to long or spiral perms can take 2–3 hours including consultation, processing and shampoo/diffuse. Arrive on time to ensure full service is completed.
