Most highlight appointments take 60–150 minutes depending on technique, number of foils, and whether a cut or blow-dry is included. Balayage or full-color services take longer. Your stylist will give a time estimate during consultation so you can plan accordingly.
When done professionally, highlights cause minimal damage. We use high-quality color, precise placement, and bond-building treatments when needed. Regular trims, deep conditioning, and using salon-recommended products help maintain hair health between visits and reduce cumulative color stress.
Most clients refresh partial highlights every 6–10 weeks to maintain brightness and blend new growth. Frequency depends on hair growth rate, contrast with your base color, and whether you want a softer, lived-in look. Your stylist will recommend a schedule during consultation.
Highlights can blend grey hair and add dimension, but full coverage may require retouching or root color. We offer grey coverage with partial highlights and lowlights to create a natural, blended effect while preserving texture and minimizing harsh regrowth lines.
Use sulfate-free shampoo, color-safe conditioner, and weekly deep-conditioning masks to protect highlighted hair. Rinse with cool water, limit heat styling, and apply UV protection. For blonde tones, use a purple shampoo as directed. Ask stylist about recommended professional products.
